昨夜の「日豪」交流会で、私としては初めて英語でご挨拶をしました。

娘のおかげでできたようなものですが、記念に内容を記しておくことにします。興味のある方はお読みください。

Good evening, everybody!

First,I would like you to welcome each of you from the Young Adelaid Voices to Ichinomiya city.

You are very important guests to us,and I thank you for coming all the way from Australia.

My name is Akio Yamaguchi, and I will be the next president of the Ichinomiya South Lions Club.

I am facing a big challenge to facilitate the 50th year anniversary project of our lions club.

My objecives are to hold a music festival for passing on good Japanese songs to Japanese children,as well as to promote international exchange.

The Forum 21 boys and girls choir understood very well and supported this wonderful exchange party. I am very grateful for that.

So,We the members of the Ichinomiya South Lions Club held the tea ceremony for you to experience Japanese traditional culture.

How did you enjoy it?
I hope you enjoyed the tea ceremony,kimono and calligraphy.

The consert with Forum 21 will be a big commitmment for you,but tonight I would like you all to enjoy Japanese food,culture and Japanese spirit.

Tonight I made my speech in English to respekt your culture,but my English is not realy very good. So when you talk to me at te party, please speak slowly and use easy words.

ところがこれをスラスラとしゃべってまじめにやればいいのに、私のことだから、最初の１節をしゃべり終えたところで「ここまで完璧！」と言ったりして、結局カタコト英語漫談みたいになってしまいました。


ホームステイする子の一人がちょうど今日誕生日、お祝いしました。でもこうやって見ると、ぼくたち黄色人種・・・だね。

旅の疲れか、このあとこの子たち、私の倍ぐらいぐっすり寝ました。
